Community Support Groups
A Parkinson’s Support Group meets the first Thursday of each month from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon at Desert Mission United Methodist Church, 7373 E. Dixileta Drive (southeast corner of Dixileta Dr. and Scottsdale Road). A guest speaker gives a presentation, followed by a time of questions and answers.
An Alzheimer’s Support Group meets every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon at Desert Mission United Methodist Church. This support group is sponsored by the Desert Southwest Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays Support Group meetings are held here on the 2nd Thursday of every month. This group provides support and education for not only the LGBT+ family, but also anyone with a desire for deeper understanding of all those with in our community. If you know anyone that may benefit from this support group or want to attend for yourself, please know that you are welcome. Support information talked about at the meetings is strictly confidential.
Support groups provide a forum to share feelings, concerns, and information and are a way of supporting and encouraging each other.
Both these meetings are open to everyone. No registration is required, and there is no cost to attend. We hope everyone interested will feel welcome to attend.
