As our name states, Missions are a passion of this congregation.
Join us and we will do all we can to empower, direct and provide opportunities for service to others.
Wesley’s Golden Gate Community Center
One of the Missions we provide financial and other support to is the Golden Gate Community Center which is known for its health center for the impoverished population in South Phoenix. Wesley also provides after-school programs for children and many other programs supporting the local community. As many as 7,000 individuals are served.
You can help by volunteering as needed for after-school programs, tutoring, etc. and supporting families at Christmas.

UMOM New Day Center of Phoenix
UMOM (United Methodist Outreach Missions) is a local Phoenix faith–based center helping move families as well as single women out of homelessness. On the 3rd Wednesday of each month, we provide an opportunity to serve approximately 200 meals at the overflow center at 1120 W. Watkins Blvd in south Phoenix. We meet at church at 3:45 pm and head down to the shelter. It’s lots of fun and usually takes one hour to serve and clean up.

Support Our Troops
Desert Mission supports our troops by collecting care package items, preparing them for shipping, and mailing them to our troops. This provides contact with the troops as well as supplying personal items not otherwise available to them.
Desert Mission volunteers support HopeKids which provides ongoing events and activities and a powerful, unique support community for families who have a child with cancer or some other life-threatening medical condition. Our activities include prayers for the kids, personal notes of support, participation in sponsored events in a volunteer capacity, and offering special gifts at various times. All are welcome to join us in this very meaningful ministry to our community. Click for more information on HopeKids.
The Justa Center is a daytime outreach program for homeless seniors. The streets are not safe for homeless individuals in general, but older people are particularly vulnerable. Justa Center is a day resource center for those individuals over the age of 55 who need a place to live and who have few resources and even fewer friends and family members on whom they can count for help.
DMUMC supports Justa Center with cash donations and “wished for” items as needed by the facility.

The Foothills Caring Corps is a local ministry which provides “Meals on Wheels,” individual transportation to critical appointments, van service to events and shopping in the area, and handyman help to individuals upon request. Volunteers from our church have provided help in each of these areas.
