United Methodist Outreach Missions (UMOM) is a local Phoenix faith-based center helping move families as well as single women out of homelessness. We donate funds to purchase meals for the Halle Women’s Center located at 3424 E. Van Buren Street in Phoenix. We also collect clothing and can arrange for the pickup of furniture to furnish their temporary housing.

The Vista del Camino Food Bank is one of the many programs supported by Scottsdale Community Partners. The mission of the food bank is to provide emergency food, referral information, and financial assistance to individuals and families in the Scottsdale area that are in need. Desert Mission donates dollars as well as collects food items on a regular basis for this organization.

The church office is open on Thursdays from 8am to 2pm to drop off donations of non-perishable foods for the food bank. Envelopes are also provided for check donations. Please refer to the weekly newsletter for items needed most.

For additional information visit their website: Vista del Camino Food Bank.

The Justa Center is a daytime outreach program for homeless seniors. The streets are not safe for homeless individuals in general, but older people are particularly vulnerable. Justa Center is a day resource center for those individuals over the age of 55 who need a place to live and who have few resources and even fewer friends and family members on whom they can count for help.

DMUMC supports Justa Center with cash donations and “wished for” items as needed by the facility.
