Community Connection
“Family Time” is now Community Connection! While the name has changed, the focus has not: these activities, offered by our Children’s Education Director, are designed to help families remain connected to their faith, community and each other.
Each week, a new activity is introduced during Sunday worship and then posted below. Also, don’t forget to follow Community Connection on Facebook and Instagram.
Dig Deeper on Groundhog Day
In the spirit of the movie Groundhog Day, let’s revisit one of the articles we shared on this date last year, but didn’t dig into very deeply. It’s about the origins of the holiday, which are rooted in early Christianity, in a festival called Candlemas. Have you heard of it?
Summer in January
We’ve talked about Christmas in July, but what about Summer in January? This week, which will be the coldest one we’ve seen in a while, warm things up by bringing some summer fun into your home!
Be Love
Tomorrow we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. A great resource for information about Dr. King and his work is the website of the King Center, the organization dedicated to continuing where he left off. While you are there, reading about ways to be of service, consider taking the “Be Love” pledge.
Sunday Supper Month
January is National Sunday Supper Month! Whether or not you've ever heard of it before, take the opportunity to renew your family's commitment to connecting over a meal.
Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh
As we near Epiphany, your family can travel along with the Wise Men, carrying gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to share with each other!
