It’s Starting to Cool Down, Which Means Renewed Opportunities to be Outside.

This week, make a calendar of outdoor activities that your family can do together.

* Brainstorm everyone’s favorite things to do outside – they can range from more strenuous activities like hiking and climbing to relaxing things like picnics in the park (or your own backyard!).

* Compare your schedules and find the days and times you are all free.

* Create a calendar that takes full advantage of the openings in your schedules.  Be sure to consider the length of time available, any supplies you might need to gather, and what the weather forecast is.  You can make your own which is a fun project in and of itself.

* This is the most important step: follow through!!!  Hold yourself to the schedule you’ve created – it’ll be worth it when you feel the sun on your face.  And be sure to take time out during each activity to notice and express your gratitude for each other, the beautiful world we live in, and the opportunity to enjoy its glory.

Let us know what activities your family is looking forward to the most!
