Community Connection
“Family Time” is now Community Connection! While the name has changed, the focus has not: these activities, offered by our Children’s Education Director, are designed to help families remain connected to their faith, community and each other.
Each week, a new activity is introduced during Sunday worship and then posted below. Also, don’t forget to follow Community Connection on Facebook and Instagram.
Be a King
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is tomorrow! While it’s been a federal holiday for 39 years, it seems more important than ever to continue the work Dr. King began, and there are lots of ways your family can be a part of the legacy he left us (and lots of resources to guide you along the way!).
Paper Bag Skits
Last week we talked about the stars in the sky, and this week our focus is the stars in your house! Try your hand at a creative drama activity that might push you out of your comfort zone, but will definitely give each family member a time to shine. It’s called ‘Paper Bag Skits.’
Follow the Stars
Epiphany is coming, the day on which we remember the arrival of the Magi in Bethlehem, bringing gifts for the Baby Jesus. When we talk about the Magi in Sunday School, we emphasize that they were so wise, people thought they were magic. The Magi knew a lot about lots of things, but the thing they knew the most about was the stars.
New Year’s Wishes
Christmas is upon us, which means the new year is near! Surely your family has wishes and prayers for what you hope the new year will bring, and there is a very special way to put them out into the world that we’d like to share with you.
It’s Christmas!
During this Advent season, we have been continuing our tradition of taking a trip around the world, exploring Christmas traditions from different countries. This week, we’re headed back home to explore some traditions that are uniquely American.
