Community Connection
“Family Time” is now Community Connection! While the name has changed, the focus has not: these activities, offered by our Children’s Education Director, are designed to help families remain connected to their faith, community and each other.
Each week, a new activity is introduced during Sunday worship and then posted below. Also, don’t forget to follow Community Connection on Facebook and Instagram.
The Lord’s Prayer in a Week
Way back in 2020, we shared (via Zoom) an activity called “The Lord’s Prayer in a Bag.” It’s a really lovely way of deconstructing and examining the words we say every week. This week, approach this activity again, but in a new way – one day at a time.
Getting to Know You(rself)
In this time of transition within our church, take full advantage of the opportunity to get to know not only our new Pastor and his family, but also those you already know – including yourself. One great way to do this in a structured way is to “interview” each other!
A Fourth of July Experiment
We often take time on the July 4th holiday to pray for our country and its leaders. This year, we invite you to deepen this tradition and add some scientific inquiry to your reflection by making your own fireworks – no matches needed.
Top Five/Bottom Five
Summer is a great time for road trips, air travel, or just spending time together at home. Make the most of it with a new game, Top Five/Bottom Five!
From Exodus to Emancipation
This week brings Father’s Day as well as Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day. After you’re done expressing gratitude to the father figures in your life, take some time to connect to, and celebrate, the official end of slavery in the United States.
